Here are some videos of the brooder all setup with everyone in it and Little Man working on naming his French Black Copper Maran. Fun times on the farm! Source
This past weekend we went to Carolina Chickenstock and had a great time! Little Man bought 1 French Black Copper Maran chick and 2 Khaki Campbell ducklings with his own money! We bought 2 more of the ducklings and 3 Beltsville Small Whites turkey poults from Gobble-Us-Up Poultry along with another 13 Black Australorp chicks. Needless to say, I was quite busy Saturday afternoon building a larger brooder with dividers for all out new birds! Our flock is growing steadily! Source
We have baby quail! They started hatching 2 days ago, we now have 17 hatched and in the brooder. They are so tiny and very cute! Source
Bringing home our new goat! He is Ethel’s twin brother. It is so awesome to see Ethel quickly remember him and keep pestering him to play! Just like a little sister should! Source
Little Man was disappointed when we first got goats that he didn’t get a boy goat that he could name. Ellis Farms had Ethel’s brother whethered earlier this week and he was available. So with the ability to have a “boy” goat for Little Man and not have the risk of unplanned little goats, we decided to surprise Little Man with his new goat! I left work earlier to pick up the goat and Little Man had no idea when he first got home from school! Source
The bees went on into the hive this afternoon! Looks like they are getting busy with the pollen patty and sugar water![fb_vid id=”1455298424542784″] Source
Came home from work this afternoon and the bees moved on into the hive! They are quite busy chewing down on the pollen patty and sugar water! Hopefully they will build quickly and strongly. I have their hive positioned in an area with a lot of honey suckle that is bloomed out, I would think that should give them some quick food nearby. #firsttimebeekeeper #honeybees[fb_vid id=”1454846564587970″] Source
We caught a bee swarm yesterday! Got it all setup in a nuc. Right now they are half in and half out of the hive. Hope they all move in. This is my first time doing this, so a lot of trial and error…[fb_vid id=”1454203034652323″] Source
Nom Nom Nom! Such yummy greens! We have decided to name this goat Lucy. She is quite adventurous and we can see where she will be the trouble maker. Our other goat is now Ethel as she follows Lucy everywhere. Even into trouble. It seems quite fitting to name them after the amazing TV duo of Lucy and Ethel of the I Love Lucy show! Fun times indeed![fb_vid id=”1433276856744941″] Source
